Struck By A Colorful Beam Of Light
A shocked driver has described what he believes could have been a close encounter with a UFO.George Donnan, 64, was driving with friends Alistair & Doreen McMillan when his car was hit by a beam of yellow/green and blue light.
The ordeal unfolded as they approached a roundabout on Glen Road, Lennoxtown.
George says the beam appeared to be coming from the hillside and lasted around 2 minutes.
He has reported the incident, which happened on Thursday, September 10, to the police.
George says the zigzagging beam was made up of colored squares, which lit up the grass and trees in the surrounding area as well as the road.
He and his passengers initially thought it was an ambulance and he pulled over to let it pass. However, they checked the road and there were no other vehicles in sight.
All 3 left the scene, but returned 5 minutes later to find that the lights had gone.
George stated:
It was a terrifying experience. My friend wanted to get out of the car and investigate, but I locked the door and told him to stay inside. It was scary, I've never seen anything like it before. We all saw the same thing at the same time, we were absolutely bamboozled by it.
I've never seen a UFO before, I've never looked for one because I'm not that type of person, but I suppose in the back of my mind I think that there is something up there.
The sighting was the second alleged UFO encounter to be reported in the Kirkintilloch area that day. At 8:50 p.m. a large orange ball, which resembled flames, was spotted in the sky. It disappeared after 2 minutes.
