Large Sphere With Blue Tail At 500'
Three Air Force personnel, Master Sergeant Aluridus C. Holm, Staff Sergeant Robert T. Barnes, and Technical Sergeant Harry A. Gavagnaro, two of which were in Wing Intelligence, saw a large bluish/white spherical object with a long blue tail in the east, about 2 miles away traveling north through the sky much faster than a jet aircraft.
The object was.on a horizontal path estimated at 500' altitude, was below and seen against solid overcast cloud cover at 4,700', speed later estimated at 1,400 mph, no sound, disappearing in the west.
